[In the wee morning hours of Oct. 9th, a text goes out.]

anyone around mahogany and awake and want to go a few rounds run somewhere train creatures will take anything[Because that was one hell of a dream. One he's not too sure he's going to be able to get over too quickly right now. He's just... loathe to admit it even happened.]

[But, regardless of whether or not anyone is conscious to answer his question, the old bot can be found in a local park, either jogging with his Growlithe, or attempting to wrestle his Aggron.]

[Something physical. It's all that's going to get his mind off things.]

[He's guessing this is going to follow with a question about whether or not his offer still stands... so.]can't miss me only one out here with an onix

[ the feed cuts there. Talim arrives in the park a short while later, flanked by a very worried-looking Scyther.

Contrary to her usual demenor, her mouth is set in a grim frown, her eyes still red with tears. She has her practice tonfa clutched in a white-knuckled grip. ]

[Just like he said, he's out in the middle of the park, with his Onix standing guard... as he appears to be attempting to wrestle his Aggron to the ground. It's not working out too well.]

[Napalm turns her head toward Talim as she approaches, with a little growl of greeting. Hello friend.]

[ The Onix gets a nod of greeting in return, and the priestess clears her throat ] Ironhide?

[She huffs, and gestures back with her head.]

[... to where Ironhide's caught in a headlock from an overeager Egg. Both of them stop mid-wrestling match, when they see the ladies looking their way. Ironhide clears his throat, but doesn't shoo his pokemon off.]

...

Yeah?

When you're done with that... I want to go next.

[He blinks, and then smacks the Aggron with the side of his fist. Egg drops him, obediently.]

You sure?

[ She steels herself, drawing up to her full (4'8") height. ]

Positive.

[Talim he could crush your head between thighs like Spearow's egg.]

[... not that he WOULD. He's actually a little impressed she's standing up like that.]

Right.

How are we doing this?

[ She's fought bigger than you, Ironhide. ]

However you like. I have my tonfa, or we can spar hand-to-hand if you want.

I have no weapons.

Might as well just go with hands.

Very well.

[ She sets her tonfa aside, where her Scyther is conversing in hushed, worried tones to Ironhide's Onix. What's up with their trainers?

That done, she falls into a ready stance, and waves him forward. ] Come on.

[Onixes don't have shoulders to shrug with, so Napalm just shakes her head -- she has no idea.]

[Meanwhile.]

[He's a little curious why this tiny kid is so eager to fight. She doesn't have Heather's "i'm going to kill the whole world goddammit" attitude to pin it on, either.]

[So he moves cautiously, more slowly than usual, to test it. His grab for one of her arms is clear, without attempt to feint or distract her.]

[ She is tired, frustrated, and frightened. She watched her own pokémon, mangled and corrupted by the very sword she tried so hard to destroy, beg her for his death.

It was a dream, yes, but Talim does not ignore her dreams. It's a bad omen, and it shook her.

She's not pulling her punches.

She spins inside of his reach- she's small, but speed is her ally- jabbing an elbow at his gut. ]

[It sort of shook him, too. But Ironhide is more the sort to internalize these things.]

[Good. That was precisely the reason he went slowly. To gauge her reactions, her intentions. She's as serious as she seemed. He takes the hit, as a result. It earns a sharp grunt.]

[And then he makes an attempt to slam his elbow into her shoulder, to knock her back a few paces.]

[ She's already skirting back, so the blow is glancing as she twirls away. She takes a moment to roll her shoulder before falling back into stance to see what he'll do next. ]

[Huh. She's good. He's pleasantly surprised.]

[He circles her, arms loose, at the ready. If he goes to her, she's going to move out of the way. He'll have to make her come to him.]

[So he takes a step back, still watching.]

[ She clenches her fists, watching him. It's clear he's not coming to him.

He lunges, suddenly dropping low to aim a kick at his knee. ]

[Huh. So she's onto that strategy, is she?]

[If that kick connects to one of this frame's knees, it's going to drop. He has to block it. So he jabs a hand down, to try and grab her ankle at best -- or at the very least, block the incoming kick.]

[ He catches her, one big hand clamping around one tiny ankle. She has to brace herself with her hands to keep from totally falling over. Thankfully, that also gives her the leverage to swing her other foot up at the side of his head. ]

[When his hand connects, when he feels his hand clamp down and secure itself on her ankle, he pulls her up. Straight up. Trying to take her off balance.]

[Her foot connects, and his whole body jerks to one side, delaying his effort to pull her off the ground.]

[ She'll take whatever hesitation she can get, and twists again, swinging her foot at his belly this time, trying to wind him and get him to let go. ]

[If she's going to kick, he's going to try and catch her other leg, to have a matched set.]

[ This seems unfair somehow! She jerks her foot free, thankfully, frowning. ] Do you intend to just cling to my ankle the whole time?

If you cannot escape... yeah.

[Although he kind of wants to see what she'll do to get out of this. She's been a nice surprise so far.]
