show_my_cannons | [Video] / Action for Violet

[Judging from the high angle of the video, someone's Onix got a hold of the pokegear, and is sneakily attempting to film this travesty in the making. We see Ironhide. Walking toward the Gym.]

[This can only end badly.]

[He turns toward the camera -- and the Onix responsible -- and scowls.]

Who gave you that? Put it away!

[After making some ineffective shoo-ing motions, he shakes his head, and continues walking along. There's a low rumble, as Napalm seems to find this amusing. However... as they near the Gym itself, something scuttles across the path.]

What...?

[Understandably, Ironhide's head snaps around to follow it. It's unclear what happens next, as his big, broad back is blocking the view of whatever creature it was. He goes tense, hand slipping into his coat for something -- a pokeball, maybe. The camera bobs around, trying to see over him...]

[... before the old Autobot drops to the ground like a stone, and the tail end of a Shedinja scuttling into a bush.]

[The 'gear plummets to the ground, and an Onix roars. There's a grind of moving boulders before the feed cuts out.]

[ Cliff was nearby, playing with his Electrike and waiting for Ironhide to go make a fool of himself, but Napalm's roar brings him running full tilt ]

Napalm! Hey, what's wrong?

[The big Onix tenses up as someone comes running, but then settles when she realizes it's only Cliff.]

[She growls, and shifts enough to show the unconscious body she's curled herself around.]

[ Cliff swears. Colorfully, and in several languages. He vaults himself over the Onix and crouches next to Ironhide's unconscious form.

He's still breathing, at least? ]

[Napalm lowers her head to watch, looking concerned.]

[Ironhide is still breathing, just completely unconscious.]

Ironhide? Hey! Wake up!

[ he shakes the other lightly, to no avail ] Come on, partner. Wake up!

[Nothing. He just lays there. Except his head sort of rolls around limply when he's shaken.]

[Napalm sets something down next to them -- the 'gear. And its recording. Maybe this will help.]

[ He scoops up the 'gear, and watches the video, frowning all the while. Eventually he makes a choice and shoves it in his pocket. ]

We've gotta get him to the Center.

[ He grabs the pokéballs off of Ironhide's belt. Hell if he knows which is which, but he figures Jaws could at least help him get Ironhide onto Napalm's back.

Fuck it. He'll let them both out ]

[Napalm looks like she's about to protest... but it's too late. There's a couple flashes of light.]

[And Jaws and Egg appear. Already tackling each other and starting to chew on one another.]

[The Onix lifts up her tail and promptly whaps them both over their heads. They freeze in place, staring at Cliffjumper. Napalm nods to him -- Go on.]

In case you haven't noticed, we've got a problem. [ he stands, unclipping a pokéball from his belt with one hand, and motioning to their unconscious trainer with the other. He looks deathly serious, and begins barking out orders in a tone the Ironhide would be proud of. ]

Jaws, c'mere. Help me get him onto Napalm's back. Egg, whatever took him down went into that bush. [ he points ] Go see if it's still there. Try not to hurt it.

[ He opens up the pokéball, releasing his newly evolved Haunter. ]

Specs, go with Egg.

Now.

[Egg lets out a bellow of his own, and goes charging off into the bushes with all the grace of a stampeding rhino.]

[While Egg barrels off, Jaws lumbers forward. He takes a look at his trainer, then up at Napalm. He snorts.]

[Napalm raises her tail again, in a warning, and finally the bear does as he's told, lifting the big Autobot quite easily.]

[ Cliff helps him lift Ironhide onto the waiting Onix. He hops up there himself to keep his friend steady and recalls Jaws into his pokéball.

He sits and waits for the others to come back ]

[It's not long before Egg comes charging back, shaking his head from side to side. He looks frustrated, going so far as to butt his head against the ground and Napalm's side, before hunkering down.]

[He didn't find anything.]

[ Specter comes floating back, shrugging and giving a defeated ] Hau- Haunt.

All right. You guys did good.

[ He recalls Egg into his ball as well, and turns to Napalm. ]

Get us to the Pokémon Center, Nay.

[Napalm needs no further encouragement. She rumbles out an agreement, before making her way to the Center.]

[Big as she is, the Onix can still move pretty damn fast when she wants to.]

The hell? What happened?!

[ Cliff has Ironhide's 'gear now, and he frowns ]

That's what I'm tryin' to figure out, kid.

No point asking you why he just fell over, then.

Somethin' disappeared into the bushes right after he went down. I'm guessing that has something to do with it.

Yeah, he was staring at something, but the camera didn't catch it either. Not someone, at least.

This kinda thing ever happen before?

I know people pass out at random sometimes, but I've never seen it happen like that.

Ironhide may be old as dirt, but there's no way he'd just pass out. Something got him, and I'm gonna find out what.

You're not gonna run after it into that bush, right?

I sent some of the pokémon in to see if they could find it. It was long gone.
