Cɪᴛɪᴢᴇɴ Rᴇɢɪsᴛʀʏ
name: AARON HARDING
age: 49
appearance:
He is built like a brick house. Or a linebacker, whichever you find more descriptive. He's somewhere around 6'3", and a couple hundred pounds of muscle, and prosthetics. Those are mostly limited to damage repair -- like a replacement hip, some ribs, and part of the right side of his face. He has short, dark hair, and blue eyes in a heavily-lined face. He also carries a lot of scars, minor and major, with the most noticeable ones being on said right side of his face, and a large, circular scar on his chest. The scar on his face is about the size of three fingers, starting at his chin, climbing up to his eyebrow, and then tapering off to the right. The blow damaged the eye on that side, and while it's been repaired by various doctors, it remains less responsive than the other, with poorer vision, especially in low light.

occupation:
Security Guard slash bouncer for a popular nightclub slash casino. Part time brawler, because a city like this one has to have a version of Fight Club, right?

residence: Here

fix:
Protection. In any capacity. He has to come to someone's defense. Phsycially, if possible, but he's had to settle for verbally, or just looming threateningly over someone's shoulder. Usually a weaker party, or someone who can't do so for themselves.

permissions: HERE

record:
He never knew his parents. He spent most of his life in one of those unfortunate "adoption" situations, with too many children in too little space. It left an understandably bad taste in his mouth, seeing "parents" fall to greed and other children barely scraping by because of them. A lot of them left to join local gangs -- he heard of more than one dying in incidents related to fighting and street wars.

As a result, he signed on with the military as soon as he was able, to fight the gangs he was sure were responsible for so many difficulties. Over time, he rose through the ranks, becoming something of a weapons specialist, occasionally training new recruits, and helping to design new weaponry and the like, when it was offered. After making sergeant in his unit, he seemed to stall out. He didn't take the opportunities for bribery, or other forms of under the table advancement, save where it would allow him to pursue more weapons development. Other than that, he was determined to be in it for the long haul, showing no signs of planning for retirement or transfer. He thought he was making a difference against the various gangs and the like. Thus, there really wasn't a reason for him to. He served with his unit for twenty years, determined to stick with his men until he was absolutely forced to retire.

He met someone, too, during his service. A doctor, one who patched him up repeatedly, by the name of Benjamin Ratchet. Which earned a few raised eyebrows on his part, but, regardless of odd names, they became very close, very quickly.

It was only after a long, drawn-out conflict in one of the seedier parts of the City that he was forced to think about these things. Without his knowledge, one of his men, looking for an opportunity for promotion, tipped off one of the local gang leaders, thinking they could work something out -- the gang took out Harding, the man would replace him.

Harding survived, but barely. His hip was irreversibly damaged, along with his eye, and even after military medics and civilian doctors alike worked on him, he failed to regain full mobility in his leg, or full sight in his eye. Yet, he still wished to serve, in some respect. He applied for positions training new recruits on the firing range, but, in the end, was denied on the basis of limited mobility, despite promises from his superiors. At least, they said it was due to his limited mobility. He always suspected it was due to his stance on bribery and other forms of "unlawful advancement".

Left with no other options, he was discharged, and returned to something like civilian life. Which didn't suit him very well. He drifted between jobs, never finding anything that worked, and having difficulty even being hired. He learned his doctor friend was discharged as well, and tried to stay close to him, in any capacity.

He was finally, after about a year, given the chance to work nights as a security guard for a casino. It's not much, but it pays, and every so often he gets to throw a few punches, usually in defense of someone, which serves him just fine. He's not terribly happy about it all, even after almost ten years on the job.

[In the wee morning hours of Oct. 9th, a text goes out.]

anyone around mahogany and awake

and want to go a few rounds

run somewhere

train creatures

will take anything

[Because that was one hell of a dream. One he's not too sure he's going to be able to get over too quickly right now. He's just... loathe to admit it even happened.]

[But, regardless of whether or not anyone is conscious to answer his question, the old bot can be found in a local park, either jogging with his Growlithe, or attempting to wrestle his Aggron.]

[Something physical. It's all that's going to get his mind off things.]
show_my_cannons: (Human | LA LA LA NOT LISTENING)
Here.

Made it.

[He sounds... groggy almost. Like he's just witnessed something horrible and terrifying and loathsome all rolled into one.]

[There's a pause, before he thinks to mention where it is he's even ended up.]

... Mahogany. Made it to Mahogany.

[Ironhide, you'd better sit down. You don't sound so good.]

Where is the Mason girl.

[WOW what a beautiful forest this is. Seriously, it's nice. All peaceful and stuff. Listen to that quiet wilderness air...]

[... which is then completely shattered by an angry growling. Not from any pokemon. From a human.]

[Who appears to be kicking a bush.]

Fine.

I will concede.

I will... fly...

[Ironhide, you have a bunch of rock pokemon, how are you going to fly anywhere.]

... Somehow. When I find something with wings.
show_my_cannons: (I am going to count to three.)
[So remember how Ironhide had been lost in the wilderness earlier?]

[That's not a problem anymore. Because guess who can suddenly turn into a truck? That's right, this guy. A truck that is currently plowing through trees and bushes and whatever might be in his way. BEEP BEEP MOVE OUT OF THE WAY.]

[As soon as he gets into some clear space, be it a town, or a pathway or anything reasonably clear of tall, cumbersome trees, the truck skids to a halt.]

[And transforms.]

Hah! About time this has happened... Now.

[He rolls shoulders the size of a small family car.]

Let us get on with this. Tracking the girl should be simple. Or... hn. Simpler.

[STOMP STOMP STOMP off goes the giant robot through the town. Whichever town you might happen to be in.]

[Interrupt him? Y/N?]

show_my_cannons: (Human | Are you speaking words?)
[Well, here's something we haven't seen in a while. What is it, you may ask?]

[It's Ironhide. Standing on his Onix's head and... looking hopelessly lost. Judging from the landscape, he's left Olivine, finally, only to wander into some forest somewhere. Napalm's head barely clears the tops of the trees.]

... Scrap.

[He says a few more choice words -- none of them technically printable -- and squints down at the 'gear.]

[Cliffjumper always had the map, when they went out...]

Where is the compass function on this thing? Trying to get to Goldenrod or... wherever it is the kid has gone.

Towns all sound the same... hnmf.

[This is Ironhide-Speak for: Where the hell am I.]

show_my_cannons: (Human | Class dismissed.)
[Wow, Ironhide, where have you been? You haven't shown your face in a while. Why--]

[He's facing the house he's been staying in for months, with its windows gone all dark, the yard silent. It's clear there's no one home there.]

[And... he's standing alone, outside. Save for Napalm. The Onix has her tail curled around him, somberly.]

Hn. That's done, then.

[So said, he turns, and starts walking away without a second glance.]

Tell me.

Where is it we go when we have finished our business in Olivine?
show_my_cannons: (Human | What in the?)
[It's evening, and the old man is headed out on some errand or other. He's knocked the 'Gear on, as he's heading out the door, and shrugging into his coat.]

Cliffjumper, be back--

[It's in the middle of his statement that something swoops down out of nowhere. It's round-ish. Dark blue. And flying.]

[It's also squeaking in a high-pitched little shriek of rage. Ironhide swats at it, swearing, before ducking back inside and slamming the door behind him.]

All Spark!

What was that.

[The shrieking noise hasn't stopped. And now, Dog can be heard, barking at whatever it is lurking behind the door.]
show_my_cannons: (Human | Walk in my direction)
[Another video feed with Ironhide. Though, this time, he seems much more pleased with current events. He's seated on the floor, between his Growlithe, and his Aggron, examining a little green creature busily chewing on his boot toe.]

Huh. Not what I expected. Not sure I mind...

[Yep. His Christmas egg finally hatched. As he sits there, actually, genuinely smirking, the baby pokemon decides it's a good time to climb up one of his big arms, and perch on his shoulder.]

[It's a Scyther. A slightly different color of Scyther...]

I have just the name for you, kid.

[Apparently he's either unaware he turned the 'gear on, or he's feeling in an exceptionally good mood. Because he reaches up to tap the little bug on the nose.]

Best live up to it, Sideswipe.
show_my_cannons: (Human | We are not amused)
[For whatever the reason, Ironhide has decided being outdoors in December is preferable to staying inside. You know, where it's warm.]

[He's... back on the beach. Bundled up in his big, black coat, and throwing a piece of driftwood for his Growlithe. Dog seems totally unfazed by the cold, running around and barking as if it were a summer day out.]

What is one meant to do, when stationed somewhere? Hmn? There is nothing to fight. Little to train for, and I cannot work these creatures constantly.

[He scowls, watching Dog scamper around.]

Not fair to them.

So... what is it I am meant to do here, if I am required to stay?
show_my_cannons: (>:|)
[And, once again, we're on the Olivine beach. Except, this time, there is a massive, black Autobot standing in the sand, swinging a piece of driftwood the size of a telephone pole easily in one hand.]

I cannot say I disagree with this development... but I would like it more if there were something to do.

[That said, he reaches down to pick up a very large hunk of rock. He tosses said hunk up into the air, before, almost casually, swinging the piece of wood like a baseball bat.]

[... man, that piece of rock is out of here. Over the ocean, thankfully.]

Hmn. That might do.

[Behold! The doors of the Olivine City Gym!]

[And Ironhide, exiting without fanfare or ceremony. He does pause to brush... soot? Off his coat, though. Not that soot can really be seen on the infamous Black Coat.]

[... though what can be seen is the brief flash of the Mineral Badge pinned under one side of said coat.]

[Apparently, he was trying to hit the "VOICE" function, and knocked the "VIDEO" instead, because he doesn't look at the 'gear, just bends to rub an excited Growlithe behind the ears.]

... Steel types are not as tough as they sound.

Appreciate the strategy. To all who offered it.
show_my_cannons: (Default)
All is screened.

And just please be gentle.  There's a reason this isn't exactly out in the public eye, and it's my own personal thing.  So... yeah.
show_my_cannons: (Human | The aging superhero in me)
[The feed is shaky, and occasionally teeth and a tongue come into view, as Ironhide's Growlithe decides the 'gear is a delightful chew toy. It's clear enough, though, to show the old Autobot sitting on the beach in Olivine City. More precisely, on the tail of his Onix.]

[Both of them are observing a sunset. Although Ironhide appears to be more interested in the contents of a bottle in his hand. It's not energon, but it does the job.]

[Eventually, Dog wanders over, and he notices he's being recorded. With a scowl, he pries the 'gear away.]

I was told there was something 'special' in these... sunsets.

I see nothing different. Just the same as they are anywhere else. ... No reason to stick around this place.

[With that statement, he flicks the 'gear off.]

[... Someone is in a worse mood than usual.]
show_my_cannons: (Human | So let this life begin.)
[Hey, here's someone who hasn't made his own post in a while. Seriously, Ironhide, you need to get on this Badge-Collecting business. You're so slow.]

[Regardless, he flicks the 'gear on as he exits Ecruteak's gym, in the process of pinning the Fog Badge to a pocket inside of his coat. ... A coat which he still manages to wear in the middle of summer. Go figure.]

[Dog the Growlithe runs around his feet, clearly pleased with herself. After a moment, he crouches -- his knees popping -- to pat her. Awkwardly.]

Cliffjumper. Got the badge. We can roll whenever you are ready.

[He pauses, regarding the 'gear thoughtfully.]

Which leader gets to challenge my team next, hmn? None of them have stood a chance, thus far.

Occupation: Security guard for a generic business complex

Full Application: Here!

Echoes Received:
1st Echo -- So one day, he was out in the park, doing as much of a workout as possible -- a light jog or something. And about tripped over an angry chihuahua suddenly charging out into his path. Okay, more like actually tripped, because he landed face-first on the pavement. Fortunately, there was an odd guy in a bright yellow track suit there to help! Not that a few scrapes were anything a hardened soldier had to worry about, but all the same, the gravel had to be cleaned out and whatnot -- which was precisely what the other guy did.

And BAM. Cue bizarre flash of knowing this person, amidst the bantering and borderline bickering. He'd never seen him before in his life, but, for some reason, he couldn't help but feel as if he'd met him before. Not just deja-vu, complete and utter surety. He knew his name, for one thing, the name Ratchet. It was the kind of feeling you get when you run into someone you've known for a long time, but haven't seen in years. Like an old childhood friend. An immediate feeling of ease and familiarity. That, and the whole, odd number thing.

2nd Echo --
The tattoos covering his original form. They include sigils and symbols in Cybertronian. The tattoos run across his knuckles, across his "cheekbones", around his "ears", and in a circle on either shoulder. The facial tattoos can be seen here. The last tattoo... is the Autobot symbol. On his lower back. He won't know what they mean, only that they're extremely embarrassing.

3rd Echo --
The memory of Optimus Prime. Not in full. Only that he served a commander by that name. That he was possibly the most important thing on the planet, the most vital part of the cause. That he would do anything for him. The loyalty to him. Basically the feelings and name associated with Optimus but no images or specific events.

4th Echo --
Seeing Ratchet's physical echo (the arm) in this thread, after the buzzing intensifies, triggering the memory of: "I WAS A ROBOT." Yep. Seeing Ratchet's arm triggers the memory flash of his old body. He'll remember being huge and made of metal and guns.

5th Echo --
The Heavy Iron - it's a cannon. A collapsible cannon usually stored on his back, in his other form, though smaller sized, for a human body.  This also includes his memory will be everything pertaining to the weapon, its care and use. And where it came from. Its name, etc

6th Echo --
Alien-farmhouse-attack gets him his robot body. With the scars and broken bits and old man pains that come with it. No extra weapons, car mode, or gains in height. He's a 6' some odd robot soldier.

7th Echo --
Seeing
Ratchet's robot form. gets him about 20 extra feet in height. He'll be bounced back to 25' tall, but only for so long as the fighting lasts. A couple hours or so. So it's temporary, overall.

8th Echo --
Fighting Wise Snake alongside his old BFF gets him transforming between human and robot forms. He'll be able to go between looking like a normal person, and his robot body. No truck yet, so no go-kart sized topkick rides, sadly. But he'll be able to pass as a human again once he figures out how in the world to control the transformations.

9th Echo --
Stomping on a toothpick monster gave him back... an accent. His vaguely British, incredibly precise and formal way of speaking. He'll go from talking like a normal person to talking more like this.

10th Echo --
Seeing the crazy car in the plot log grants a Tier 2: Ability --> transforming his robot body into a car. More specifically, his truck altmode. It won't be as huge as it normally is, more like the size of an average pickup, instead of a giant battleship of a truck. But other than that, the rest of the truck operates as normal.

[Six months ago, Ironhide received a uniform. Six months ago, he barely wanted to look at it.]

[And now, he's totally wearing it. Granted, he looks pretty solemn about the whole thing, but hey, at least he's wearing the thing. He's also out on the edge of the town, leaning casually back against his Onix, studying the sky.]

... Any town in this place stay warm most of the year?

[There's a reason he's asking -- one he probably won't say unless absolutely pressed. He looks like he's going to ask something else before his brow abruptly furrows, and he looks up at his Onix.]

Remind me. Have the sudden urge to hit Cliffjumper... Do not let me forget.

[The Onix tilts her head, but nods slightly before her trainer hangs up.]

[Once more, one of Ironhide's pokemon -- probably Green -- has turned the 'gear on, without his knowledge. He's shown standing on Napalm's head, holding onto her crest, as the big Onix lifts it up over the treetops.]

[... Yes, it would seem he's still out in the middle of nowhere, after leaving Goldenrod.]

Looks like the weather cleared up.

[He looks back over his shoulder, and scowls, before plucking the 'gear up from his youngest.]

So sound off. Everyone in one piece?
